ADHD-ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder)
Research On NeurOptimal® For ADHD-ADD
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a mental health disorder that includes a combination of persistent problems, such as difficulty sustaining attention, hyperactivity and impulsive behaviour. While it affects young people, it’s not only a childhood condition – ADHD-ADD may continue into adulthood.
It can impact upon many aspects of an individual’s life, including academic difficulties, social skills problems, and strained parent-child relationships. Adults with ADHD-ADD may have difficulty starting, prioritizing, and finishing their tasks, and can be distracted, disorganized, and restless.

Neurofeedback and Academic Performance
Two educational studies have explored how neurofeedback may relate to focus, self-regulation, and academic confidence in students:
– A pilot study at the University of Central Florida, titled “NeurOptimal® and ADHD/ADD in College Students” and “NeurOptimal® and Anxiety in College Students,” followed participants over time and observed changes in areas such as inattention, hyperactivity, anxiety, depression, and academic self-efficacy.
– Another study, “The Effects of EEG Neurofeedback and Neuro-Cognitive Processing in the Educational Environment of an Arts-Based Private Elementary/Middle School,” looked at academic growth within a creative learning environment that incorporated both neurofeedback and neurocognitive coaching. Researchers examined students’ progress in a setting designed to reduce stress and support holistic development.
